Delta Group joins elite Airbus suppliers

Delta Illescas, a company belonging to the Delta Vigo Group, began its production at the ITAC Technological Park (Illescas Advanced Composite Technology), as a supplier of carbon fiber components for the Airbus A350 XWB.

The Delta Group had already worked on previous models such as the A380. This new plant located among the Airbus production centers in Illescas and in Getafe places Delta Illescas among the elite of top level suppliers. This will also complement the work performed in the Vigo facilities of Peinador and Valladares.

“We want to grow and meet the challenges of the industrial world, guaranteeing a philosophy of work based on technology before any economic objective and maintaining a brand policy based on zero defects. We must do things well, and all the products must have their own quality seal,” said Delta Group chairman Francisco Puga, to the President of Castilla La Mancha region, José María Barreda, during the inauguration of Delta Illescas.

Delta Illescas inauguration

Francisco Puga, chairman of Delta Group, and José María Barreda, President of Castilla-La Mancha region, inaugurated the Delta Illescas facilities located at the ITAC Industrial and Technological Park. They were accompanied by the vice president, María Luisa Araújo, and the mayor of Illescas, José Manuel Tofiño.

These new facilities, with a total area of 20,000 m2, will complement the group’s two other plants in Vigo, and aims to produce large aeronautic components.

The Delta Group chairman is taking on the challenge of establishing the company in the “Nucleus of aeronautic excellence and at the same time as the reference in composites.” The company has made a commitment to focus on technological development above economic goals, to implant a culture of responsibility and committed work among its employees, maintain its policy of “zero defects,” and have a stable and competitive staff.

Delta Illescas, involving a total investment of 31 million euros, will begin with 25 employees, seven of whom are engineers. In addition, it predicts duplicating its economic activity in 2012, so that 45 new jobs will be generated, five of them for engineers.

Delta Group will build new facilities in the ITAC Technological Park

The Delta Group, which already has two plants in Vigo, one in Valladares and the other in Peinador, has decided to strengthen its participation in the projects of Airbus, the top European aircraft manufacturer.

Delta Vigo is building a new plant in the Industrial and Technological Park of Illescas (Toledo), considered Spain’s “aeronautic excellence park”.

This new plant, with an approximate area of 15,000 m2, requiring an investment of 20 million euros, will be fully functioning within a year and a half. It will have a staff of approximately 70 people, 20% of whom will be upper level engineers.
